1:1 Bespoke Fishing Lessons

A 2 hour bespoke 1:1 fishing session for children and young people

We have seen the therapeutic benefits of fishing in our monthly Introduction to Fishing group activities and are now also able to offer a bespoke 2 hour 1:1 fishing session for children and young people aged 6 and over who may find the group sessions harder to access.

These bespoke sessions will be completely tailored to your particular child and family needs and are perfect for beginners but will also be suitable for those with some fishing experience and wanting to increase their confidence and independence.

The sessions are run in partnership with Stuart from Fishing Adventures. Stuart has worked with many SPACE families and has experience of working with neurodiverse children and young people.They will take place at Manor Farm Lakes Fishery, North Road, Lower Caldecott, Biggleswade, SG18 9BB.

Once a booking has been made, a mutually convenient date and time will be arranged between yourself and Stuart.

Age: This activity is for children aged 6 and over.

Rod Licences:

• Young people under the age of 12 DO NOT NEED a rod licence.
• Young people aged between 13-16 DO need a rod licence which is FREE
• Young people aged 17 and over DO need a rod licence at a cost of £6 per day

F or children and young people aged 13 and over please visit www.gov.uk/fishing-licences. If you do not purchase a rod licence where applicable BEFORE the event you will not be able to participate. You cannot buy rod licences at the venue - you must apply online on the link given above.

Accessibility: There is gated access to the lakes. On arrival please pull over to the side where we will greet you and give you a pass card to gain access through the date. Once in, parking is ample and on site. There is a short walk to the lake. Toilets are also available on site.

A session is 2 hours long. Costs are heavily subsidised by SPACE in order to make this experience accessible to as many families as possible.

Families will pay £40 + Eventbrite fees per 2 hour session

Parents/Carers must remain on site at all times and children remain the responsibility of their parents/carers at all times.

These sessions will need to be taken by Thursday 11th December, although there may be flexibilty on this at the discretion of the instructor.
