Do you have to dress up your dog?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not. Not everybody wants to do this and not every dog is happy to be dressed up. It is entirely up to you.

Question 2

Do us humans have to dress up?

Accepted Answer

Again, it is entirely up to you. You could just wear your normal things, or maybe add a tail and some ears, or go the whole hog and go for a full outfit. You don't even have to be a dog. The sillier the better!

Question 3

How many dogs can I bring?

There is a maximum limit of 2 dogs per person for this event.

How many humans can I bring?

Accepted Answer

There is no limit!

Question 5

Do I have to raise sponsorship?

Accepted Answer

No, but we would love it if you did! For this event, it is the dogs who are raising the money. Every dog that raises £40 of sponsorship money will be entered into the special prize draw. You might be surprised how easy is can be to raise £40 simply with an online giving page.

Who are St Michael's Hospice?

Is the route accessible to all?

Accepted Answer

We have chosen a route that is flat and entirely tarmacked so you can get to the Mary Stanford Lifeboat House without encountering any muddy puddles or tricky slopes. It is worth saying that  you may well encounter some wind seeing as we are on the coast.

Do we have to stay on the tarmacked path?

Accepted Answer

On the return from the Mary Stanford Lifeboat House, you might choose to use the footpaths that go through the nature reserve, although we can't guarantee what the ground will be like in these areas.

Question 9

Do dogs have to stay on their leads?

Accepted Answer

Yes. This is a rule of the Sussex Wildlife Trust who run the reserve and are kindly supporting our event. Please do not let your dogs off the lead.

Are there are any toilets?

Accepted Answer

Toilets are available at the Village Hall and also at the Discovery Centre which is in the nature reserve.

Question 11

How far is the walk and do we have to complete it?

Accepted Answer

The walking route is just a suggestion. You are free to walk as much or as little as you feel is appropriate for you and your dog.

Are dogs allowed in the Discovery Centre?

Accepted Answer

What about parking?

Accepted Answer

Follow the road all the way through the village to find the large car park (please note there is a height restriction in place). This car park is free but we would encourage you to make a donation in support of Icklesham Parish Council's desire to keep it free of charge.
