We are the first port of call for social entrepreneurs, and the best place for you to start your journey into business.Like many of the businesses we support, we are a charity and social enterprise. For over 16 years, we have been helping budding social entrepreneurs make their ideas happen. From the start, we have offered grant funding and business advice. Over the years, we have grown and developed new services including investment readiness support and social investment products, responding to the needs of the entrepreneurs we support.While we now deliver all these services, relationships, mentoring, and encouragement are the pillars of our support.Firstport: My Company | LinkedIn

Volunteer Scotland

We are running a series of events about Ready to RISE across Scotland in January, follow our Eventbrite page or keep an eye on <a href="https://www.firstport.org.uk/business-support/ready-to-rise/" title="https://www.firstport.org.uk/business-support/ready-to-rise/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">our website</a> for future dates. These will be happening in Perth, Stirling, East Lothian and Fife. Ready to RISE aims to help women across Scotland learn about social enterprise and discover their potential to use entrepreneurship to make a living, work flexibly and positively impact their communities. Ready to RISE is for you if you want to return to work after a career break or want a career change to design your ideal workplace – one that allows you to make a living, work flexibly and use your skills for good. You may have not considered starting a social enterprise – or any business – before, and that’s OK. You do not need a business idea to participate in Ready to RISE. Whatever your background or experience, you will already have skills that could help you start and run a business. Our Stirling Information Session will take place at Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprises. We’ll be joined by social entrepreneur, founder and former Chief Executive of Grace Chocolates, Joyce Murray. Joyce will share her journey as an entrepreneur and how she combines her skills and passion to make a living.Children are welcome so please bring them along.
