Speaker's Biography:Lorraine Mensah is a specialist employment and immigration barrister with The Barrister Group.She regularly provides specialist advice in the areas of Nationality, Immigration and Asylum law. Lorraine is able to utilise her 18 years' experience in both fields to support a range of clients including individuals, public authorities, the NHS, Universities and Charities needing specialist cross-over advice and advocacy.A best practice guide for interpreters involved in court and tribunal proceedings.The talk will cover what guidance is available, the duties of an interpreter, ethical dilemmas faced by interpreters and how to deal with them, mental health and other vulnerabilities in witnesses and interaction with the Judge and the lawyers.The talk will be accompanied by a handout with useful information and interactive links to the guidance.
