Translators (especially literary translators) may be more aware of copyright law than interpreters but interpreters are increasingly becoming concerned about the use of recordings of their voices and visual images and their legal rights.The webinar will cover inter alia:<ul><li>What is Intellectual Property (IP)?</li><li>Copyright as a form of IP</li><li>Copyright rights retained by us or assigned (transferred) to clients</li><li>What Copyright can and can't protect</li><li>How to copyright IP</li></ul>Issues related to ownership of copyright<ul><li>Use by clients of recordings of on - site or remote interpreters' voices and/ or visual images with and without our prior written permission and knowledge</li><li>Ownership and / or transfer of copyright in our translations to our clients</li><li>Copyrighted materials such as end clients' source texts provided to us by our clients</li><li>Is it possible to protect our copyright?</li><li>Breaches of copyright and penalties</li></ul>
