Recorded course designed to help teachers manage the difficult balance of providing an enabling environment which is as safe as possible.

Following the latest government guidance there has been some confusion around what is expected in EYFS classrooms in September. This course is designed to help leaders and teachers meet the needs of their learners in a developmentally appropriate way, whilst meeting the safety requirements set out in DFE documentation.Throughout the Covid crisis, Ruth has been liaising with experts in occupational health and virology, and has taken advice from ALAMA (Association of Local Authority Medical Advisors) as well as the teaching unions to ensure that any advice is informed and practicable. This is a recorded version of the course, which will help teachers to reflect on their own classrooms and plan confidently to provide an environment which is as safe as possible when schools return in September. All participants will receive a copy of the handouts which contain risk benefit analyses for the most common areas of continuous provision which teachers can tailor to their own needs, a blank risk benefit analysis for teachers to use for other areas and links to useful resources to support teachers understanding and practice. The guidance and risk benefit analyses in this training are not designed to replace school risk assessments, but to support teachers' and leaders' thinking."Such an informative session and it has really given me hope that we can give our F1 and F2 children what they really need whilst minimising the risks to them and us""Thank you so much for this informative and helpful session. It's helped me to feel empowered to make some decisions about my classroom in September""We had four members of staff attend and out headteacher and they have already phoned each other with ideas and plans as you have made things that bit clearer."
