<p>"The Battlefields Trust is a volunteer run registered charity dedicated to the protection, promotion and interpretation of Britain's battlefields. This talk will give an overview of the Trust, looking at its history, its purpose, and some of its achievements. Then we will look at one of its projects in Essex - an investigation into the Battle of Assandun from 1016, between Cnut and Edmund Ironside - and show how this is driving historical and archaeological surveys in the area."</p>
