Webinar hosted by Changing Futures Plymouth to share learning from the "Your Story" project, promoting culture change in assessment practice

Changing Futures Plymouth are inviting you to a webinar to introduce and share learnings from the ‘Your Story’ pilot project. The webinar will be held on Microsoft Teams, and will be recorded for people who are unable to make the session.The aim of the Your Story project is to explore ways in which we can promote culture change within assessment practice, where ways of working between individuals and services are more relational, human, power-balanced, and trauma-informed.Through co-production methods, a tool has been developed by people with lived experience to enable people experiencing multiple disadvantage to:<ul><li>Take control of their information when using services</li><li>Empower them to share their story in a way that matters to them​</li><li>Reduce the need to repeat their story and risk re-traumatisation.</li></ul>This webinar provides an opportunity to:<ul><li>Illustrate the aims of the Your Story project and the process so far</li><li>Share learnings from the co-production groups and early feedback from the pilot</li><li>Discuss how practitioners can use the tool to support person-centred and trauma-sensitive ways of working</li></ul>This webinar is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about trauma-informed approaches to assessment practice, practitioners supporting people experiencing multiple disadvantage, and operational and strategic leaders working in the sector. We would particularly welcome services from Plymouth and the surrounding areas who may be interested in trialling this approach, but the invite is open to anyone in the UK. This project has been funded by Changing Futures Plymouth. Sitting within the Community Connections team at Plymouth City Council, the programme is jointly funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government and The National Lottery Community Fund.
