Transitions in Social Care Learning

3Spirit Training

3 Spirit UK invite interested stakeholders to join us to re-imagine the future of adult social care learning.

During the pandemic, the workforce we support required the rapid development of new skills. In the absence of face to face training, adult social care learning was transformed. Social care providers had to accelerate access to technology to up skill their staff . During this time, confidence has grown in our sector to access technology for learning. It has increased peer collaboration across boundaries leading to more responsive services. As our sector continues to struggle with the impacts of COVID -19, we need innovative approaches to learning and development to protect, enable and engage our workforce. The transition from face to face training to online delivery has bought many challenges and there is still much work to do to improve accessibility for all. As a Skills for Care "Centre of Excellence" and a Social Enterprise, we aim to IMPACT the communities we support, specifically considering ways to develop learning strategies which transition learning from class to practice. Technology is a key enabler of improved impact in the workplace, as it can accelerate learning, provide flexible solutions and most crucially provide access to resources when needed. To support our work, we were funded by Ufi #VocTech for digital transformation, transforming what we did face to face to an online delivery. This event shares the lessons learnt from that project and invites interested stakeholders to join us to re-imagine the future of adult social care learning. At this event we will share what the challenges and opportunities are for online learning in our sector. The technological advances available to us have accelerated the development of our Higher Apprenticeship programmes. At this event, we will share with you the work we have been doing to create specialist pathways in dementia and autism, both of which were developed as a legacy of this project.
