Ever wondered how Landscape scale conservation actually works? What connected habitats look like? Come and see a large scale habitat management project in action with Chalk, Cherries and Chairs!Nick and Harriet from the Chilterns Conservation Board will take you on a guided walk around Lodge Hill, nr Bledlow where you will see how National Lottery Heritage Fund and Countryside Stewardship funding are being used to carry out a large scale chalk grassland restoration (contractors will be on site and in action on the day!) on a SSSI. We will also discuss and show you how we are working across a new Farmer Cluster through the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs Landscape Partnership Scheme to create and restore chalk grassland, hedgerow and woodland habitats for of farmland birds, butterflies and plants.Please note, this is not an all day event. Walks will last approx. 1hr and 45 mins and will be at a relaxed pace but will involved some steep climbs to the top of Lodge Hill. We will be in small groups so plenty of chance to discuss what we are doing and why we do it this way and to ask questions.Please book a ticket for the time you will be attending- it is important that we manage numbers on site due to limited parking and contractors on site.
