CHASE Essentials provides some of the core skills you will need throughout your PhD and beyond. Some of the workshops will be specific to the stage of your study, please ensure that you choose these appropriately.Open to all Arts and Humanities at CHASE institutions.

Thursday 15 &amp; Friday 16 July | 09:15 - 13:00 (please note that 09:15 is the confirmed start time, although your registration may say 09:00 - Eventbrite does not allow such specific start times.)Run by <a href="https://www.mpinternational.org/index.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Media Players International</a>, these two one-day workshops will help you understand what makes for good communication through the general media and through short podcasts, the two most useful vehicles for reaching the public. They also directly address the issues of impact and media strategy required by the Research Excellence Framework.This one day workshop will help you to pitch your podcast correctly to the target audience, to organise your thoughts and consider the best ways to present them. We will give you the skills to present the podcast in a talk format, and the interviewing skills to make an interview/conversation style podcast.Terms and conditionsThe following groups are eligible to attend the training<ul><ul><li></li><li>CHASE funded and associate PhD students,</li><li>Arts and Humanities PhD students at <a href="http://www.chase.ac.uk/chase-members/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CHASE member institutions</a>,</li><li>and students and members of staff at <a href="http://www.chase.ac.uk/chase-partners/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CHASE partner institutions</a></li><li>Arts and Hum PhD students (via the AHRC mailing list)</li></ul></ul>By registering you are requesting a place on this training programme or selected sessions that form part of the programme. A member of the CHASE team or the workshop leader will contact you in due course to confirm that a place has been allocated to you.If you are allocated a place but can no longer attend, please email <a href="http://enquiries@chase.ac.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">enquiries@chase.ac.uk</a> so that your place can be reallocated. CHASE training is free to attend and events are often oversubscribed with a waiting list. Failure to notify us of non-attendance in good time (ideally 5 days prior to the workshop/programme) means your place cannot be reallocated and may result in your access to future CHASE training being restricted.
