The Darlo Drum Festival is a one day family festival dedicated to celebrating drumming and community. This year we have put together a spectacular program of international performances, workshops, and interviews exploring rhythm, percussion, and dance. In addition to live performances from Darlington Town Centre, the festival will feature online Live workshops, pre-recorded performances, Live discussions and will end with Live DJs. This festival is for audiences of all ages and skill levels to learn, explore, and have fun. ---------------------------------------Mariam Rezaei is an award-winning composer, turntablist and performer. She is Artistic Director of TOPH, a producing mixed arts space in Newcastle. TOPH curate a regular series of concerts along with an annual TUSK FRINGE for TUSK Festival.Recent notable music commissions include; BBC Radio Freeness ’SKEEN’, July 2020, ‘AGENCY-SKEEN’ AMPLIFY 2020, ‘untitled’ Tectonics Online 2020 (forthcoming), ‘Metropolis’ live film score at Glastonbury 2017, ‘A Song For Ella Grey’, ‘War Of The Worlds’ for Northern Stage, ‘Radical Acts’ CommonWealth and ‘Don’t Forget The Birds’, Open Clasp Theatre, ‘TOP///‘ at Tectonics Mosaic/Cresc. Festival 2018, Wiesbaden, for Ilan Volkov, and Ensemble Modern, ‘The 42 Mirrors of Narcissus’ TUSK Festival 2019, ‘Wolf’s Tail’ HCMF 2019.​Her newest album release ’SKEEN&#x27; is available on Fractal Meat Cuts (fractalmeat.bandcamp.com/album/skeen).
