Filming in Palestine, but denied a permit to enter Gaza, US journalist Abby Martin connected with videographers and journalists across the blockaded border to produce this film. Riveting coverage of demonstrations at the height of The Great March of Return in 2018, combine with archival film of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine and Israel's violations of international law, facts routinely ignored by the media.We hear first-hand accounts of dehumanising oppression, including of journalists, medics and children killed or seriously injured by IOF snipers. Essential medical treatment abroad is delayed or denied. When the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November against Benjamin Netanyahu, and former defence minister, Yoav Gallant, for crimes against humanity, Israel dismissed the move as "antisemitic".Gaza Fights for Freedom presents a powerful portrait of Palestinian dignity and heroic resistance in 2018 against the injustice, frustration and daily humiliation experienced by people struggling to survive in this, the world's largest open-air prison.
