Welcome to the Mid Sussex Triathlon course familiarisation event!

This is a free event hosted by members of the Mid Sussex Triathlon club for anyone who has signed up to compete in the Mid Sussex Triathlon or Aquabike in June.

The aim of this event will be to familiarise the entrants with the course by riding and/or running around it and this will be done at a leisurely pace. It is not a race practice! We will aim to have similiar ability groups and these groups will go at the pace of the slowest member. Helmets are mandatory on the cycle.

The event will also give you the opportunity to meet a number of experienced Triathletes from the Mid Sussex Triathlon Club who will be able to give advice and guidance if you wish. The club is full of experience including a number of members who have competed internationally so it's a great opportunity to get some sound advice and help with those pre-race nerves.

It's also a great way to meet other entrants and many of the marshals who will be there on race day, making the big day a less daunting experience with more familiar faces around.

Our philosophy as a club is for inclusivity, we want everyone to feel they can come. Above all, this will be FUN!!

FAQs

What should I bring into the event?

If you're cycling, a bike in roadworthy condition. Helmet's are mandatory, no one will be allowed to ride without one. Suitable cycle clothing for the conditions on the day and our recommendation would be to wear something with high visibility as we will be cycling on public roads. Please also bring basic tools/spares (i.e. pump and puncture kit fixed to your bike), just in case.

If you're running, then bring running clothing suitable for the conditions on the day. The run will be on paved surfaces so road shoes are appropriate. Again, our recommendation will be to wear something with high visibility.

Drinks and snackss are also recommended!

The only requirement is that you are entered into one of the Mid Sussex Triathlon events

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

race@midsussextriathlon.com

No, this will not be necessary
