Join us for a talk by Julie Summers: Unbuttoning Vogue - writing about the most glamorous of all fashion magazines

Kellogg College is pleased to welcome you to this year's<a href="https://www.internationalwomensday.com/" title="https://www.internationalwomensday.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> International Women's Day</a> talk. About the speaker:<a href="https://www.kellogg.ox.ac.uk/our-people/julie-summers/" title="https://www.kellogg.ox.ac.uk/our-people/julie-summers/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Julie Summers</a> has written fourteen works of non-fiction. Her most recent British Vogue: The biography of an Icon (2024) was published by Weidenfeld to critical acclaim. Julie’s best-selling book Jambusters inspired the ITV drama series Home Fires, which ran for two seasons in 2015-16 and had a regular audience of over six million. Dressed for War (Simon &amp; Schuster, 2020), is the biography of the wartime editor of British Vogue, Audrey Withers, and is in development as a drama series. From October 2024 she is Writer in Residence at Kellogg College and working on her next book, which focuses on the women of D-Day. Seminar Convenor: <a href="https://www.kellogg.ox.ac.uk/our-people/clare-morgan/" title="https://www.kellogg.ox.ac.uk/our-people/clare-morgan/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr Clare Morgan</a> This in-person event is free and open to all. Refreshments will be served from 5.00 pm, followed by the talk at 5.30 pm. There will be a Q&amp;A session after the talk, and a drinks reception. This event will be photographed and filmed. If you do not wish to appear in the photographs/footage, please let the photographer/videographer know.
