Black studies scholar Denise Noble explores the work of American social activist, academic, and author bell hooks.

Study Sessions are informal and intimate discussion groups. Free. Limited Capacity. Booking required.Denise Noble is a leading Black feminist critical race theorist, sociologist and cultural theorist. As an anti-racist education activist she specialises on equality consultancy in higher and further education. Noble has taught Black Studies in the UK and the US, as well as Media, Cultural Studies, Sociology and Social Work in the UK. Her research focuses on the intersections of race, gender, class, sexuality and nation in Black Diaspora cultural politics, postcolonial and decolonial feminist theory, and the social history of racial liberalism in Anglophone Caribbean society and its British diaspora. She has published several scholarly articles and a book entitled Decolonizing and Feminizing Freedom: a Caribbean Genealogy (2017).
