Join skate coach Emily, co-founder of We Skate Soton and coach with Get Up Skate School, as she takes you through all the basic skills you need to shred on a mini ramp!This lesson is perfect for you if you can ride around on a skateboard but haven’t done much transition skating yet. Emily will help you crack essential ramp skills like pumping and kickturns, in a small, supportive group environment.The lesson will take place on the mini ramp in the main gallery space at Gods House Tower, the ramp is part of the We Skate Soton exhibition, We Skate, we vibe. The gallery will be open to the public during the lesson so there may be visitors to the gallery walking around during the lessons.The mini ramp has a mellow transition. It is 2ft high, 15ft long and just under 6ft wide. Skaters must book onto a session and sign a wavier before skating, the team will have the waivers ready for you to fill in before your session.Skaters must wear a helmet during the lesson. 4 spaces available. Ages 8 and up. This lesson is not suitable for complete beginners and you must provide your own skateboard and protective equipment. About Emily:Emily, co-founder of We Skate Soton and skate coach with Get Up Skate School has been skating for a little over 3 years, as soon as she stepped on a board she completely fell in love with it! She always wanted to skate when she was younger, but she had never seen any girls skating so didn’t have the confidence to try it. This led to her wanting to create a space where marginalised genders felt safe to try skating, and experience all the joy and fun that comes with it!
