If you've answered yes to any of the above or if you are simply curious to know more, then we'd love for you to join the Centre of Systems Modelling & Quantitive Biomedicine (SMQB) at University of Birmingham, for a free online event showcasing case studies of existing interdisciplinary research collaborations with SMQB.

You'll hear short talks from three sets of clinician and researcher collaborators, who will be discussing how they have been working together to carry out new pilot research projects which brings together their skills as clinicians, mathematicians, computer scientists, tech designers and more. These projects all hope to make improvements to patient experience through improving diagnosis, disease management, risk prediction and more.

You’ll also meet our SMQB Research Fellows and other attendees during a facilitated networking ‘mixer’ session, enabling you to explore initial ideas and shared interests - with the opportunity of applying for seedcorn funding later this year, if the opportunity interests you.

Schedule:

3.00-3.15 pm // Welcome

3.15-4.00 pm // Three short presentations will be given by researcher and clinician duos about their research collaborations.

4.00-4.10 pm // Brief explanation of how the virtual mixer will run

4.10-4.50 pm // Three breakout networkings sessions (3 x 12 minutes each)

4.50-5.00 pm //Close & event wrap up, including details of how to apply to the next round of seedcorn funding, if interested
