Norfolk Record Office (NRO) collects and preserves unique archives relating to the history of Norfolk and makes them accessible to people all over the world.The events listed here are run from our base at The Archive Centre, Martineau Lane, Norwich.   Free parking is available at County Hall for Archive Centre users. <h3>IN-PERSON EVENT</h3><p>Norwich was one of the main cities involved in the shoe industry between the 1950s-1980s. Whether you worked in a factory, had relatives that worked in one of the factories, or enjoyed shoe shopping join us reminiscence about your experiences. The event will start with an introduction to the shoe industry in Norwich by Michael and Frances Holmes. There will be a chance to see some original documents and sound recordings about people's experiences of the shoe trade in Norfolk.
