Book Club for Spanish Learners

This is an activity aimed at non-native readers of Spanish who wish to gradually introduce themselves to Hispanic literature and find a friendly and relaxed space for conversation adapted to their level.

The library of the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester invites you to our Spanish Language reading group.This is an opportunity for all Spanish language learners to explore Hispanic literature in a friendly and welcoming environment tailored to your level.In the March session for intermediate students (B2), we will discuss two newspaper articles about the experience of speaking and learning Spanish: <ul><li>"Monolingual, Ambilingual, and Bilingual Spanish Speakers" by Rafael del Moral</li><li>"Calladita estás más guapa." When language is used to injure women's self-esteem, by Charo Rueda.</li></ul> <blockquote> </blockquote>

The reading group is led by Luz Comendador (librarian), with academic support from Ana Valbuena (teacher at the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester).Suitable for intermediate students: at B2 and advanced levels of B1.Participants will receive the texts from our library. El Club de Lectura para Estudiantes de Español es una actividad dirigida a lectores no nativos de español que deseen iniciarse gradualmente en las literaturas hispanas y encontrar un espacio amable y distendido de conversación adaptado a su nivel.Los textos, originalmente escritos en español, están seleccionados de acuerdo con el nivel de aprendizaje.En la sesión de febrero para el nivel intermedio (B2) comentaremos dos artículos periodísticos sobre la experiencia de hablar y aprender español: -Hispanohablantes monolingües, ambilingües y bilingües, Rafael del Moral -"Calladita estás más guapa". Cuando el lenguaje se usa contra la autoestima de las mujeres, de Charo Rueda.<h2> </h2>
