I am a heart-centred nature-based therapist, facilitator, and artist. I have a wealth of experience with children aged 2-18 in schools, community, and charity settings, including 6 years supporting autistic children. I also volunteered as an art therapist with adult refugees and asylum seekers for a year. My approach is rooted in my love of the animate earth and our interconnectedness with all beings.My deepest desire is to facilitate connection at a heart level within ourselves, with eachother and the natural world. The aim of which is countering and healing the predominantly separatist, individualistic, isolating patterns prevalent in modern society. I believe this separation is at the root of many current global issues, the biggest of all being the climate emergency. Dangerous misconceptions that we can plunder resources without impact to ourselves and other species, that there is an 'away' where we can throw waste, that we are not fundamentally dependent on a livable earth for our very survival. Thus my drive to heal this rift is strongly linked to my passion for environmental issues.

Group for carers of children in Oldham to share concerns, feelings, find mutual support & use creativity to help navigate challenging times.

&#x27;Back to school&#x27; might have brought up conflicting feelings and concerns including anxiety, stress, and relief. In current circumstances it&#x27;s a challenging transition for the whole family.Each week I will share nature-based relaxation tips and creative activities for you to try in your own time, either alone or with your family.This drop-in community support group specifically for Oldham residents aims to support adults who in turn are supporting children. Grandparents, extended family, foster carers, everyone is welcome. Kim is a HCPC registered Art Therapist and nature-based mindfulness guide. She has previously worked in primary schools, forest school early years provision, and as a support worker with autistic children.NO COMMITMENT. Come once to try it out and if you like it pop back whenever you&#x27;re able to. No commitment to attend every week. Group activities include:<ul><li>We can focus on whatever feels useful to whoever shows up on that day. I don&#x27;t presume to know what people need, but below are some things I can offer.</li><li>Relaxation, and self-care tips for anxiety and low mood.</li><li>Focusing on what uplifts us and how we can increase this.</li><li>Sharing concerns, stories, feelings. </li><li>Using our creativity to help us to explore emotions and navigate these challenging times. </li><li>Information on increasing children&#x27;s feelings of safety (and our own!)</li><li>Over time hopefully building a local mutual support network. </li></ul>Show up as you are, if you&#x27;re exhausted, sad or confused that&#x27;s OK. It&#x27;s ok to not be ok. This can be your space to unwind.We have all muddled through this tumultuous time, just getting through each day, but now with the children back at school there is an opportunity to take a breath, pause, reflect and process this year. Or simply to focus on what you need to move forward, or get through the next day/week/month. Drop-in session lasting 1.5 hours, hosted online via zoom.  First date: Thursday 12th November 10:00-11:30am.
