Recognising Inflammatory Back PainThis session will explore:<ul><li>The types and pathophysiology of SpA</li><li>Key clinical features, diagnostic challenges, and tools like the SPADE assessment for early detection.</li><li>Referral pathways and criteria.</li><li>Evidence-based guidelines ,pathways and management strategies in primary care.</li><li>Real-life case studies demonstrating the importance of early intervention and multidisciplinary care.</li></ul>Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to identify, diagnose, and manage inflammatory back pain in their practice, enhancing patient outcomes and reducing delays in treatment.2. Understanding basic blood tests and Myeloma - Understanding and Recognising symptoms and presentation.This session will explore:<ul><li>Relevance of basic blood test understanding in MSK practice. </li><li>Case studies on how to add blood tests and results to your clinical reasoning process.</li><li>Symptoms, profile and presentation of myeloma.</li><li>Pathophysiology and understanding of diagnostic tests.</li></ul>Post session attendees will have a good understanding of Myeloma, presentation and investigations in MSK Practice. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS 1. Sam Bhide - Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner.Sam Bhide is an advanced clinical practitioner (ACP). She qualified in 2006 and is extremely passionate about learning, education and research related to MSK medicine and physiotherapy. She has masters in MSK physiotherapy ( 2010), she is an independent Prescriber (2022), injection therapist ( 2016), Diplomate member of FSEM( 2021), was co convenor of CSP London First Contact Practitioner (FCP) support network, CSP spokesperson and CSP London regional network core member (2024). She is an executive committee member of PCRMM and APPN (2024) and NASS primary care champion (2021). She is a guest lecturer on FCP courses in Coventry University (2024). She is co-author on 3 publications and currently working on a textbook due to be published in 2025 -MSK essentials for Primary to improve knowledge of MSK and Rheumatologically conditions for primary care workforce. She is a clinical director and founder of Physiozen Ltd. - wellness focus on education, treatment, management, and improvement in fitness and wellness using social media as well as physiotherapy and Pilates. Credentials- MSc MCSP MHCPC MAACP2. Martin Thomas - First Contact and Extended Scope Physiotherapy Practitioner.Martin is a HCPC registered qualified Physiotherapist with an MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy with 23 years of clinical, research and teaching experience including teaching at MSc Advance Practice modules for Coventry University. He has also contributed to the Knee chapter in the Internationally published "Hip and Knee Pain Disorders" book. He has a special interest in lower limb, particularly hip and groin and running injuries.
