South East Creatives (SECCADS) offers business support and grants to small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) in the Creative Industries.

<p><strong>South East Creatives</strong> in partnership with <strong>Violet Pictures</strong> and <strong>Screen South</strong> are back with a second series of masterclasses and development/networking sessions  to support film creatives . The first series of events took place across June and July and these new masterclass events will focus on the technical aspects of colour grading your work with <strong>Greg Fisher</strong>  (26th Oct), marketing and distribution with <strong>Andrew Mackie </strong>(9th Nov) and how to develop your career as a moving image and performance artist with<strong> Michelle Williams Gamaker</strong> (23rd Nov). For the networking sessions we have included a development element where we will focus on short film script development from feedback to structure through to funding opportunities. <h1>10:00</h1><h1>26th October</h1><p>James will be talking with Deal based colorist Greg Fisher about his process on each project through from prep and through to the final product. Greg will offer some practical skills which you will then be able to use on your projects. Greg will also will also offer advice on how best advance your skill-set over your career from early days up to large scale projects.</p><p>Considered one of the world’s most sought-after colorists and a pioneering technologist in the field of image development, Greg Fisher joined Company 3’s London office in 2014. Fisher recently colored the highly-praised space-based drama Ad Astra, the 2018 Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody and Sam Mendes’ James Bond installment, Spectre. He colored and developed custom image processing technology for Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, for which Robert Richardson, ASC took home a Best Cinematography Oscar.</p><p>Fisher began his career at Technicolor London and then worked in Scandinavia at the Digital Film Lab, Denmark and Digital film, Finland, where he honed his craft on hundreds of commercials for major European and international brands. He also colored the hit Danish television show, Borgen, which won the 2012 BAFTA award for Best Series.</p>

<h1>10:00</h1><h1>23rd November</h1><p>James will be taking to Michelle Williams Gamaker about how she has found the right balance in her work and life to develop her career while also being a Lecturer in BA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London, Chair of Trustees at Pavilion in Leeds and co-founder of the Women of Colour Index (WOCI) Reading Group working with the group between 2016-19 with Samia Malik and Rehana Zaman.</p><p>Bio:</p><p>Michelle Williams Gamaker is a moving image and performance artist based in London. Her work explores the fiction-making machine of 20th Century British and Hollywood studio films by restaging sequences to reveal cinematic construction, and recasting characters to propose alternative endings that counter their often doom-laden plight. She recently completed Dissolution, a trilogy of films comprising House of Women (2017),The Fruit is There to be Eaten (2018) and The Eternal Return (2019) in which characters from Powell and Pressburger’s 1947 Black Narcissus unravel as they become aware of their screen and staged realities.</p><p> </p><p>Williams Gamaker’s key focus is the development of ‘fictional activism’: the restoration of marginalised characters as central figures, who return in her works as vocal brown protagonists challenging the fictional injustices to which they have been historically consigned. Scriptwriting, workshopping with actors, acquiring film memorabilia and producing props for the intricate restaging of her film sets are all vital elements in the reenactment of the artificial landscapes that shaped Williams Gamaker’s love of cinema.</p>
