Understanding the UNEA process and collecting input to the Zero Draft Ministerial Declaration

The seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) will take place from 8 to 12 December 2025 at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, on the theme "<a href="https://www.unep.org/environmentassembly/unea7/theme" title="https://www.unep.org/environmentassembly/unea7/theme" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet</a>” .The preparations towards UNEA 7 have started and UNEP's <a href="https://wedocs.unep.org/bitstream/handle/20.500.11822/46871/RoadmapMD.pdf?sequence=4" title="https://wedocs.unep.org/bitstream/handle/20.500.11822/46871/RoadmapMD.pdf?sequence=4" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Roadmap for the preparation of the draft ministerial declaration of UNEA-7</a> give us a clear timeline on when stakeholders can give input.During this online consultation, the two facilitators of the European Region will be presenting the UNEA process. Additionally, representatives from the nine Major Groups will be asked to share their views on the Zero Draft Ministerial Declaration that according to UNEP's roadmap will be circulated by 31March.Few days prior to the meeting, a draft agenda with more details and the link to join the online session will be shared with all confirmed participants.The consultation will take place in English and no translations are foreseen for this session.Looking forward to meeting you online !
