Teach First Ambassadors from the North East who have left the classroom will talk to you about their new roles. 

Perfect for those doing their essay on community needs, those thinking about next steps or for those who want to know about other organisations in the North East and their work. Confirmed speakers: Jamie Douglas (2011 Ambassador), Operational Research Analyst at DWP. Jamie leads a team of analysts who help to inform the Government on long term strategies for disability welfare. Having moved to Teesside for Teach First in 2011, he is still here more than 10 years later!Claire Briggs (2013 Ambassador), Educational Psychologist, Middlesbrough Council. Claire is part of a team of Educational Psychologists employed by the Local Authority. She applies psychology in her work with children and young people, their families and their schools in order to support their learning and wellbeing. Claire first started to think I might one day want to be an EP when I was at secondary school.Lindsay Morlock (2016 Ambassador), Schools Liaison Coordinator at Evidence Based Education. Lindsay is responsible for communicating with schools around the piloting of new instruments to support teachers&#x27; ongoing improvement, as well as supporting the overall development of new projects. Lindsay is a volunteer tutor with the Access Project and also tutors a former pupil to stop her missing the best bits of teaching so much! Charlotte Fryett (2013 Ambassador), Education Associate for Skills Builder. Charlotte is responsible for supporting schools to embed the teaching of skills within their work. Alongside this Charlotte is a volunteer mentor with the Girls Network North East and enjoys working with ambassadors on different projects to improve education for young people and their families.Philippa May (2013 NE), Project Manager with Family Action, a national family support charity. Philippa manages two small projects in County Durham: Active Families, which aims to get families to be more active together; and the community engagement aspect of The Bridge Young Carers Service, to support organisations and schools to more effectively support young carers. Philippa is a Governor at her placement school, North Durham Academy. Fran Boyd-Hill (2014 Ambassador), Sales Coordinator at INEOS Hygienics, part of the INEOS Enterprises Group. Fran works within the Customer Service and Supply Chain department to support the success of INEOS&#x27; new global healthcare business specialising in sanitiser products. In all of her roles after teaching Fran has been fortunate enough to be able to use my languages and have also had the opportunity to learn others - every linguist&#x27;s dream! Georgina Burt (2013 Ambassador), School Research and Delivery Practitioner, Children North East. Georgina works within this regional charity predominantly on the Poverty Proofing the School Day programme which supports schools both inside and outside of the North East in understanding how to make the school day a more equitable experience for all children. In this role she also works on campaigns around issues relating to child poverty- using the voice of children and young people to bring about change.
