This walk is led by Rob Smith, one of Footprints of London's guides. Rob is a qualified Clerkenwell and Islington Guide, but he leads walks all over Greater London and the South East. Rob has lived in London for nearly 30 years and is particularly interested in industrial, military and political history. He also teaches London history classes at Bishopsgate Institute, Morley College and South Thames College

This Virtual Tour looks at the different ways that Christmas was celebrated in Islington during the Victorian period - whether it was a slice of the celebrated currant cake from Thomas&#x27;s or dancing at Henry&#x27;s Assembly Rooms, a Christmas lecture from Rev McGuire or a special lunch for the Boot Black Brigade.The walk features readings from the local papers at the time.There are some funny stories and some sad in this special talk for Christmas
