Join national trustee recruitment and diversity charity, Getting on Board, for a practical workshop about how charities can diversify their trustee boards.Only one third of trustees are women, 8% are people of colour and one third are under 50. 59% of charities report that their board does not reflect the communities they serve. And 74% of charities struggle to find the trustees they need.Why is this? What could improved board diversity do for charities? What are the tried and tested practical actions you can take to recruit and retain diverse trustees?This session will cover the main practical barriers to recruiting diversely, and how to remove those. It also touches on the reasons for diversifying a board and on inclusion once the new trustees have been appointed. The training is interactive and participants are supported to think about how to implement these in their own organisations.This event is particularly aimed at Barnet trustees, staff or volunteers of small to medium sized charities.
