Is this a race?

This is not a race. You can walk as fast or as slow as you would like. We have a leader of the walk, who we ask everyone to remain behind, so no one gets lost and we also have a sweeper, who will always remain behind the last person of the walk.

Question 2

Is the Moonlight Walk timed?

Accepted Answer

No, take it at your own pace and make the most of the experience. We suggest self-timing for anyone desiring a finish time.

Question 3

Can children take part?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children under 5 years old can enter for free and will receive a lantern, battery operated tea light and a certificate.

Question 4

Can I bring my dog?

Accepted Answer

Yes, dogs are more than welcome on the walk, although please keep them on a lead at all times. Please come prepared to clear up after your dog as needed.  We may even have a reward for all canine participants!

What should I wear?

Your brand new Moonlight Walk 2025 t-shirt - and clothing that will keep you warm and dry on an October evening.  Trainers or walking shoes are highly recommended for this event.

Question 6

Will there be changing rooms or storage?

Accepted Answer

No, please arrive with limited personal belongings. Any personal items will need to be taken on the walk with you.

Question 7

Are tickets transferable or refundable?

Accepted Answer

Tickets are not refundable.  If you need to transfer a ticket please do let the event team know by emailing fundraising@stmichaelshospice.com

Question 8

Is the route accessible?

Accepted Answer

The route is mostly along local streets and walkways.  At the half way point, the walk climbs up to the Hospice gardens which can get a little steep.   Anyone not wishing to tackle the hill can turn around close to the Azur and walk back to the Stade.

Can I register on the night?

We will be welcoming late registrations.  However, we may not be able to provide your preferred t-shirt size on the evening.

Do I have to raise sponsorship?

Accepted Answer

We would be very grateful for any additional funds you are able to raise.  You can set up a JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/smhmoonlightwalk2025  , or share the 7 stars included in your welcome pack with family and friends to help us meet our £25,000 target .

Question 11

Will there be photography or filming of the event?

Accepted Answer

Photos and videos will be taken at this event. These photos may be shared on our website, social media channels, eNewsletters or printed literature in relation to this event, or future events of this kind. If you do not wish to have your photo taken, please speak to  the  Hospice Team on the night.
