NMC Council Meeting March 2026

NMC Council Meeting March 2026

By NMC

Overview

The Council is the governing body of the NMC.

The Council is the governing body of the NMC. It sets our strategic direction and the budget, monitors performance and holds the Executive to account for delivery.

The Council sets the standards which nurses and midwives must meet to be registered, including for education and training, the Code and revalidation.

Council meetings can cover issues ranging from our regulatory role to scrutiny of our performance and finances and may include matters that only the Council can decide, as well as issues for discussion or information.

Council meetings are open to the public and we welcome attendance by nurses and midwives or anyone interested in attending.

This meeting will take place in the Council Chamber at 23 Portland Place, London. The Chamber is accessible, with disabled access facilities, and fitted with a hearing loop.

We are happy to make reasonable adjustments upon request, including providing papers in alternative formats.
