A wellbeing course for SEND parents, meeting for 8 weeks (plus an initial 1:1) to find connection and  improve mental wellbeing.

<h3>A parent carer nurture group running in Lawrence Weston on Wednesday Afternoons 1:00-2:30pm.</h3><p><br></p><p>This group is for parents of children with additional needs (diagnosed or undiagnosed) of any age.</p><p>The journey of parenting a neurodivergent or disabled child can be lonely, but by coming together with others who get it we can find strength, wisdom and the relief of feeling understood.</p><p>We gather parent carers into small supportive communities called nurture groups. We have an initial 1:1 session with each person, and then facilitate 8 group sessions (9 weeks in total with a break for half term). Once the course has finished, the group can continue as they wish - meeting up, attending our monthly gatherings, supporting each other via WhatsApp, or even getting together with their kids.</p><p><br></p><h3>What happens at a parent carer nurture group?</h3><ul><li>Meet the same parents each week</li><li>Share experiences</li><li>Explore a different theme each session</li><li>Facilitated by a therapist and a community worker (who is also a SEND parent) with<br>extensive experience working with SEND parent carers</li><li>Learn how to relate to difficult emotions with self-compassion, so they can work with us<br>rather than against us</li><li>Nurture activities such as guided relaxations</li></ul><p><br></p><h3>Course Dates</h3><ul><li><strong><strong>1:1 session: Wednesday 23rd April</strong></strong><br>(Taking place on Zoom in half-hour slots between 12.30 and 3.00pm)<br><br></li><li><strong><strong>First Group session: Wednesday 30th April 1:00-2.30pm continuing for 7 more weekly sessions. It has helped make my considerable load feel a bit lighter.'</p><p><br></p><h3>Book Your Space</h3><p><em><em>Sign up</em></em> if you would like to become part of a small group with others going through similar experiences, so that you can connect, share, pour out all the feelings, and start making sense and wisdom on this challenging path.</p><p><strong><strong>Suggested Donations</strong></strong><br>To keep these courses running, the suggested donation is £50 for the course, However we are happy to accept any amount according to what you can afford. We want our courses to be accessible to everyone.<br></p><h3>Cancellations</h3><p>Whilst this course is payment by donation, please be aware that it does cost us money to run and the places are very sought-after – we have waiting lists for each course. We would therefore ask that if you need to cancel, please give us as much notice as possible, ideally at least one week, so that we can have time to offer the place to another parent and meet with them for their 1:1.
