Child to Parent Violence (CPV) is a serious issue for many families, which is often misunderstood or overlooked. It can be a difficult and seemingly impossible task for parents and carers to acknowledge that this is happening in their family.
For special guardians, seeking help for a child who is displaying such behaviours can be a very shaming experience which can, in turn, prevent carers from accessing the support they need. Join us on this half day training workshop which provides a first introduction to NVR principles and methods, covering:
- Overview of the history/origins of NVR
- Principles that underpin NVR
- Introduction to the ‘NVR Map’ looking more closely at: de-escalation, parental presence, self-care
- Introduction to PAC-UK group and individual based models of intervention and support that are eligible for funding via the ASGSF
- Q&A session
