Fiona Higgs is an educator, researcher and therapy practitioner with a background in Sports and Exercise Therapy. She is the founder of the Move Well Clinic, Northampton and delivers clinic and educational programmes online and in-person. Her teaching and research interests are in multi-disciplinary evaluation of exercise-based therapy - including biomechanics, physiology and psychology. Fiona is an Affiliate Member of the Sports Therapy Association UK and a PhD graduate in Sport and Exercise Science from Aberystwyth University (2014).

Do you know the difference between the terms &#x27;flexibility&#x27; and &#x27;joint mobility&#x27;?We often use the terms &#x27;flexibility&#x27;, &#x27;mobility&#x27; and &#x27;range of motion&#x27; interchangeably. However, each these terms are defined independently. In recent years, training to increase flexibility or improve joint mobility has become more and more popular. But there is still come confusion over how important this is to our performance and function. Whether you are a competitive athlete, a weekend warrior or just want to be able to reach down to tie your shoe laces in the morning, this workshop will help you to better understand the meaning of these terms. The content of this workshop is designed to explain why we have these terms as well as their relevance to your own training goals and/or quality of life!This one-off online workshop is suited to anyone with an interest in improving human movement - whether for your own gain or that of a client, friend or family member.The workshop will help you to: <ul><li>understand the difference between flexibility, mobility and range of motion</li><li>consider the influence of these factors on quality of movement, performance and joint function</li><li>identify the most beneficial training methods for your individual needs.</li></ul>The workshop will be 60 minutes in duration and will be held online via ZOOM. Please note that you can access the ZOOM video conference platform with or without installing ZOOM to your device or computer.Tickets: Available on a Pay what you can basis.
