Staying safe from these fraud and scams is getting harder and harder, and accelerating with the advent of Artificial Intelligence. In parallel the Banks are closing branches, so options for the old trusted face to face communications are being depleted which open the doors to scammers to impersonate and engineer you to hand over your hard earned cash. So what can you do to protect you and your families?

The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) is holding an event for our members and other FSG Livery Companies on the 12th of June from 18:00 – 20:30 to provide some broad insights into this challenging world and showcase some actions you can take to reduce the risks.

We will host this event at the Information Technologists’ Hall in Bartholomew Close, where the costs are £25 per person to include drinks and canapés.

Our speakers for the evening are WCIT’s very own cyber security experts Professor Victoria Baines and Dominic Aslan. Drawing from their own experiences, the talk will cover:

The importance of Multi-Factor Authentication and ‘passwordless’ security
How to deal with hacking
Reporting scams and phishing
An introduction to the dark web.
