King’s Festival of Artificial Intelligence

The King's Festival of Artificial Intelligence is returning between Tuesday 21 & Saturday 25 May 2024, with a series of public events, including lectures, workshops and demonstrations, exploring artificial intelligence with researchers from across King's.

Have you ever wondered which areas of healthcare could be improved with AI? Can you use it to diagnose cancer? Could an AI chatbot tell you what you need to do to get better? Will the doctors of the future be robots?Come along to this Question Time style event for your chance to pose your burning questions around AI and healthcare to a panel of experts, including doctors and healthcare researchers.You do not need any prior knowledge of AI to enjoy this event.The event will be followed by a drinks reception running until 9.15pm.

<h3>Speakers</h3><a href="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/pankaj-chandak" title="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/pankaj-chandak" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Pankaj Chandak</a> is a paediatric transplant fellow at Guy’s, Great Ormond Street and Evelina Children’s Hospital, post-doctoral research fellow at King’s College London and the UCL Institute of Child Health and Hunterian Professor at The Royal College of Surgeons of England. His research interests include machine perfusion of organs and innovations with therapeutic interventions, bioengineering, repair and regeneration.<a href="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/prokar-dasgputa" title="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/prokar-dasgputa" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Professor Prokar Dasgupta</a> is Professor of Surgery and Chair in Robotic Surgery and Urological Innovation at King’s College London and Consultant Urologist at Guy’s Hospital. He is also Chair of <a href="https://rai.ac.uk/" title="https://rai.ac.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Responsible Ai UK</a>'s Health and Social Care Working Group. His main research interest is in the immunology of prostate cancer and he is part of the <a href="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/research/profile/prostate-cancer-research-centre-at-kings" title="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/research/profile/prostate-cancer-research-centre-at-kings" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Prostate Cancer Research Centre</a> at King’s.<a href="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/anita-grigoriadis" title="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/anita-grigoriadis" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Professor Anita Grigoriadis</a> is Professor of Molecular and Digital Pathology in the Faculty of Life Sciences &amp; Medicine, King’s College London. She is an Executive Committee Member and the Training Lead of the <a href="https://www.colcc.ac.uk/" title="https://www.colcc.ac.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CRUK City of London Centre</a> and heads the <a href="https://cancerbioinformatics.co.uk/" title="https://cancerbioinformatics.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cancer Bioinformatics</a> teams. She recently received funding the UK Government to establish <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/pharosai/" title="https://www.linkedin.com/company/pharosai/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PharosAI</a>.<a href="https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/medicine/people/elvira.perez" title="https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/medicine/people/elvira.perez" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Professor Elvira Perez Vallejos</a> is Professor of Digital Technology for Mental Health in the Faculty of Science, University of Nottingham. She is also Chair (Equities Pillar) at <a href="https://rai.ac.uk/team/professor-elvira-perez-vallejos/" title="https://rai.ac.uk/team/professor-elvira-perez-vallejos/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Responsible AI UK</a>.Chair: <a href="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/graham-lord" title="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/graham-lord" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Professor Graham Lord</a> is the Senior Vice-President (Health &amp; Life Sciences) and Executive Director of King’s Health Partners at King’s College London, and Chief Academic Officer at Guy’s &amp; St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital NHS Trusts. His clinical academic interests include multi-organ transplantation and the immunogenetics of transplant survival.
