Suicide Bereavement Support and Children/Young People - Workshop

Help shape future bereavement support for children and young people in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

In Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, local health commissioners are looking at how to improve support available for people who have been bereaved by suicide. The Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN) invite you to join a workshop to share your experiences and knowledge to help shape future suicide bereavement support in our area.This session is looking specifically at support available to children and young people who have been affected by suicide. Young people with lived experience of being bereaved by suicide, and parents/carers of young people affected by suicide, are welcome at this event.We will be discussing:<ul><li>What is currently working well within bereavement services, and what is already provided?</li><li>What aspects need improvement?</li><li>Why might people not be accessing services that help bereavement by suicide</li><li>What solutions could there be to improve services.</li></ul>The outcome from the discussions will be shared with the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to shape future bereavement support and make sure people get the best experience possible when they are having the most difficult of times.If you are unable to attend the workshop, you can still share your views.
