Rising Arts Agency is a social enterprise run by young creative thinkers in Bristol. We advocate for sector and cultural change through research projects, industry consultation and our creative agency services. We also support young artists through a successful mentoring programme, professional development and leadership opportunities to achieve their ambitions.

Ever wondered what would happen if we - communities, young people, creatives - decided who got funding and how? Come and hear from people who are already doing just that and think about how you could too 🤔 💭 As funding becomes even harder to come by than ever before yet it still seems like the same people keep getting funded we want to think about new models of money gathering and giving away that lets the people decide where their money goes and supports the things we care about outside of insitutional priorities. Come along to an in coversation led by Rising Arts Agency with people who are already rethinking who and how gets money to do the things that make our world a lil better. About the speakers:<a href="https://bristolredistro.net/" title="https://bristolredistro.net/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bristol Redistro</a> is a wealth redistribution group raising money from individuals for community groups challenging inequality of wealth and power<a href="https://www.jamaicastreetstudios.co.uk/" title="https://www.jamaicastreetstudios.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jamaica Street Studios</a> ran a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2024 to buy the building they're based in, including a new gallery/community spaceGeorgina Harper is a dance producer and panelist for <a href="https://www.artcry.co.uk/" title="https://www.artcry.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ARTCRY</a>, a multi artform innovative fund that supports artists to create bold political work with funding in seven days About the venue:This event is held at Bookhaus Bookshop in Whapping Wharf.It's just down the road on the right between Little Victories and ANNA cake couture, or straight ahead up the road to the right of Salt and Malt.The bookshop closes at 6pm and the event starts at 6.30pm but if you wanna stay and browse in between you're more than welcome to.The whole venue is on one level and there are accessible, gender neutral toilets in the boxes across the road.The closest bus stop is for the M2 on Cumberland Road, or it's a 10 minute walk/roll from the buses on Prince Street and the centre. There is a paid car park on Wapping Road or on street parking on the waterfront.There will be complementary wine and soft drinks available. This is the third event in a series of events as a partnership project with the Arts Fundraising &amp; Philanthropy Programme
