Healthy bladder & bowels in childhood - training for all professionals

This session will focus on how the bladder and bowel develop in early childhood and what is required for bladder and bowel health. It will consider how underlying functional bladder and bowel problems impact continence in childhood.

Objectives:

• Understand the basics of bowel and bladder health.
• Know what is typical for bladder and bowel health.
• Be aware of factors that impact on acquisition of skills for toilet training.
• Be aware of symptoms of problems.
• Be able to undertake a basic assessment.
• know what action to take to try to resolve the issues.
• Know when to refer on.
• Be able to find resources, information, and support.
• Certificate of attendance will be provided to all who attend
