We Are Here Scotland and Luminate are proud to announce an in-person networking event designed to bring together Black and Global Majority artists and creatives with at least 2 years' career experience, to explore possibilities for creative engagement with older people in Scotland.The event will feature renowned artist and researcher Paria Goodarzi as a guest speaker, sharing insights on creative ageing practices and her experience working with age-diverse communitiesThe event aims to:<ul><li>Foster relationship-building among Black and Global Majority artists and creatives from diverse discipline</li><li>Explore the transformative impact of connecting artists with diverse older communities in Scotland</li><li>Discuss creative ageing strategies that create a sense of belonging across cultural backgrounds</li><li>Identify potential employment opportunities, project pathways, and funding possibilities</li></ul> Please note: This event will take place in-person at Edinburgh Printmakers on 27th May, there is also an online event available via Zoom on 6th May from 10.30 - 1pm. Please book for the event type you wish to attend, both events will have the same programme.

About the speakerParia Goodarzi is an Iranian-born artist and social art practitioner, a member of the UNESCO RILA Affiliated Artist network, and The Young Academy of Scotland. She studied BA (Hons) in Textile Design at the University of Science &amp; Culture in Tehran, Sculpture &amp; Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art, Master’s in Adult Education, Community Development &amp; Youth Work at the University of Glasgow and PhD Researcher at the University of Glasgow, School of Education, Social Science.Paria’s artistic focus is on cultural and political transfers and translocations, as well as the contemporary human condition, cultural identity, and displacement.
