Global Tech Advocates - Black Women in Tech

TLA Black Women in tech network event every 2nd Thursday of the month, full of creativity, inspiration, and passionate conversations.

TLA Black Women in Tech hosts monthly events to bring together business professionals, and entrepreneurs and companies. The networking event is a great opportunity to meet other like-minded technology and digital businesses/individuals.Please save those dates. Our events, virtual or in-house, are on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 18:00 to 20:00. Within our amazing community, we are fortunate to have many professionals willing to speak or host the events.From 2021, our events will be featured around these 3 pillars, ensuring the subjects are relevant to tech entrepreneurs, tech companies and professionals in tech.

Current Foods Marketing Director and former Global Digital Transformation Director at Unilever. A passionate believer in purpose driven, digitally plugged-in brands and the magic that happens when creativity is powered by data. Fascinated by all things Tech.

Joann McCannWith over 20 years experience in the consumer goods industry Jo is a resourceful and creative leader in Information Technology, delivering complex change and transformation programmes. She has held a variety of roles at Unilever and is currently IT Director for the UK&amp;Ireland and R&amp;D Europe. Jo has led several global technology implementations for Unilever including SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Sharepoint and bespoke solutions for Unilever Ventures. She has championed many initiatives to improve diversity and inclusion in the tech industry and is proud to have been involved in shifting the gender balance at Unilever. At Unilever we are committed to building an inclusive culture where everyone, without exception, feels able to bring their complete and authentic self to work. We want all our employees to thrive every day irrespective of race, ability, sexual orientation, or gender.

Rini LaskarRini was named as one of the most inspirational women in the City of London in 2019 by Brummell magazine, and ranked 16 out of 100 on Yahoo Finances Empower Ethnic Minority Leader in 2020.As a Director at UBS she has led some of the most high profile technology initiatives including Artificial Intelligence, Unified Communications and more recently Cloud Transformation. She is the Co-Chair of the BAME ( Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) employee network, representing over 2000 members. Rini gives back to her local community as a board member of BritBangla and has also been identified as one of the top 100 muslim women in the UK under Baroness Uddin's 'Change the script' initiative.

Yetunde HofmannYetunde Hofmann is a Portfolio Non-Executive Director and a Board level executive leadership coach and mentor, global change, inclusion and diversity expert. She is the author of Beyond Engagement and founder of SOLARIS – a pioneering new leadership development programme for black women.
