The EPSRC National Epitaxy Facility is holding a PhD open day on Wednesday 14th May 2025 for prospective PhD students

The EPSRC National Epitaxy Facility is holding an open day on the afternoon of Wednesday 14th May for undergraduate students interested in undertaking a PhD with us.We have funded PhD studentships available based at the Facility's headquarters at the University of Sheffield. The studentships will be based on the research and development in the growth of compound semiconductor materials and devices, gaining expertise in MBE or MOVPE, and various device characterization techniques. The studentships will be best suited to candidates with a keen interest in semiconductor materials, devices and characterization techniques, and a solid background in semiconductor physics or engineering. The facility is home to 11 state-of-the-art epitaxial reactors and a wide-range of device characterization equipment, and currently supports research grants in excess of £150m in over 25 top Universities in the UK, as well as significant work with the UK semiconductor industry.The open day is a great opportunity for students to find out more about the facility and the studentships we have available.
