Welcome to Free We Grow’s Giftival!A space to play, learn, explore, share, care and celebrate!A space for reciprocity and co-creation!The Free We Grow Giftival will run throughout the month of May, culminating in an open day at Dacres Wood on Saturday the 17th of May!This is an open space festival, which means that anyone can offer an event.  Events can be submitted usingthis formup until April the 23rd. We will support you to organize and promote your event. We invite you to consider offering a game, a workshop, a conversation, a song, a dance, a walk, a hop or a skip! It can be something you’re great at already, or something you’re experimenting with and would like a space to share with others. It’s an opportunity to celebrate our gifts and share them with others!The festival will be run in the spirit of gift culture. All events will be free to attend, any funds raised will go towards FWG’s community fund, supporting us to keep our commitment to ensure that FWG is accessible to all families regardless of financial means. We have a selection of wonderful online events this year, so we can extend our Giftival offerings out to our  the wider UK and global community!

This event is part of Free We Grow's <a href="http://www.freewegrow.co.uk/giftival2" title="http://www.freewegrow.co.uk/giftival2" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Giftival!</a>We invite you to come together to share experiences and curiosities around the practice of walking into the world without money or phones.I first came across the practice in India, while spending time at <a href="https://www.shikshantar.org/" title="https://www.shikshantar.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Shikshantar</a>. The walks were called pad yatras and groups of learners, seekers, would walk for days and stay with hosts along the way, learning, sharing stories, giving gratitude and accepting hospitality. The practice is embedded in many traditions of pilgrimage and walking from around the world.In 2016, 2019 and 2022, I went on pad yatras here in England, each with a different group of friends, and we were hosted by people and places along the way. The stories, learning and joy of connection have been deeply nourishing.
