Youth Scotland is the national charity for supporting and delivering youth work in the community. We believe in changing lives through youth work.We are the largest national youth work organisation in Scotland, supporting 113,100 young people, 2,400 youth groups and over 11,700 youth workers. Youth Scotland has been around since the early 20th century and has a diverse membership network – from small rural youth groups to large urban projects. Please note: Your booking won't be accepted until you provide all your details.We need all your information, to be able to ensure we have a space for you. - Using 'Kitbag' to grow psychological capacities for dealing with life challenges- 3rd November- 6pm - 8pm Youth Scotland through funding will cover the cost of 1 mini Kitbag per organisation registered Using Kitbag to grow psychological capacities for dealing with life challenges.Short Description:This introductory workshop provides opportunities to use Kitbag an easy-to-use resource for children, young people, care-givers and other adults to become calmer (self-regulate and co-regulate emotions), engage in meaningful conversations, share feelings and grow more trusting relationships.Bit more description:Designed with psychologists and therapists Kitbag creates a psychologically safe space. This enables those who use it to share experiences and emotions in a meaningful way. The result is a de-escalation of tense, difficult situations, more trust and confidence in those who use it and better understanding between them. The Kitbag is quality assured and researched to provide Youth Workers with a tool that enhances their practice – this builds on the use of fidget toys and creations of distractor boxes a lot of youth groups have done with their young people. More information is available at www.iffkitbag.com During the 2-hour workshop you will:• Explore contents of Kitbag, mini-Kitbag and Kitbag Online• Experience using the contents• Reflect on the use of different elements and how you might incorporate this into your practice• Consider ways of using Kitbag in your work and for your own self-care By the end of the workshop you will:1. Feel confident to start using Kitbag where you work2. Be equipped with access to a Kitbag and an on-line subscription to use the digital version3. Be eligible to join a Kitbag Community of Practice to gain further knowledge and learn how other practitioners are using it4. Be invited to further reflective practice sessions to deepen your understanding and experience in using Kitbag Our funding supports training to be delivered to Residents of Scotland only. Youth worker training is in high demand – please help us support youth workers to access the training and development they deserve with these simple steps: <ol><li>Tell us if you cannot attend more than 24hrs in advance. This allows us to free up the space for another youth worker (many sessions are oversubscribed) and means you will avoid being charged the £25 fee for late-notice cancellation or non-attendance.</li><li>Check you can join with camera and microphone. Our online training is engaging, interactive and discussion-based – not a webinar format. Our members regularly tell us this is better learning and we are confident you will gain more.</li><li>Eventbrite sends you all your information by email. You will receive your ticket at booking and be sent a reminder – with any login details if online – approximately 24hrs in advance. If there are materials and handouts, your facilitator will send these too.</li></ol>Thank you for using our training and helping us to continue supporting the needs of our members and community-based youth work.
