Sonic Arts Week! Yep, it's back from the27 June - 5 Julyand taking over the lively streets and public spaces of Middlesbrough. Curated by the team from The Auxiliary Project Space, SAW is your ticket to cranking up the volume.2025 is a packed week-long celebration of sound, art and music. Taking over Middlesbrough with a vibrant, jam-packed week of installations, performances, workshops, street interventions, roaming noise-makers and more.Over the years we’ve cruised down the River Tees with wireless headphone sets playing music made from the River Tees. We’ve created this using the vibrational sounds of the bridges along the Tees. We've transformed bikes into musical instruments that turn air quality into music and rocked lunchtime concerts at Centre Square. We’ve taken over captain Cook Square with a dance troupe DnB rave and had a giant sound horn wheeled around town.Best part? It’s free, fun, and open to all—so why not come join the racket?Keep your ears open for roaming sonic encounters, chaotic orchestras, wild inventions and much more coming soon.

Curated by the team from The Auxiliary Project Space, SAW is your ticket to cranking up the volume. 2025 is a packed week-long celebration of sound, art and music. Taking over Middlesbrough with a vibrant, jam-packed week of installations, performances.

Join us for a special lead up event to this year's Sonic Arts Week. Rimski &amp; Handkerchief are a curious spectacle indeed as they 'll be meander amongst the crowds with their marvellous musical machines: the <a href="https://www.sonicartsweek.com/saw25-artists" title="https://www.sonicartsweek.com/saw25-artists" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Piano Bicycle and the Double Bassicle</a>… Singing timeless songs of momentous, melancholic &amp; magical magnitude, while performing an extraordinary dance on wheels.Expect extreme eccentricity &amp; silliness interspersed with moments of moving beauty (if you’ll pardon the pun!).
