World Wetland Day in Lihou
An exploration of Lihou to Celebrate World Wetlands Day
World Wetlands Day, which takes place annually on the 14th January, is a global celebration to raise the awareness of the importance of wetlands for people and our planet. This year, The Biodiversity Partnership are teaming up with Lihou Charitable Trust and The Clean Earth Trust to host a family fun day to explore the wetlands of Lihou.
The event will take place on the 31st January with activities including rock pooling, family games, a nurdle hunt, beach clean and treasure hunt.
Event timings
12:30 – meet on the Guernsey side of the causeway, quick briefing before rock pooling across to Lihou
2pm – Hot drinks and family games at the house/gardens (donations welcome)
Litter pick along the important bird areas, ready for when they come to nest.
