Inspirational Guest to raise aspirations for children.

Science Across the City are excited to welcome Dr. Jenny Watson to fascinate and excite children through a lens on SPACE. The main learning objectives for the session are to ask a question to a space expert and to make and evaluate simple models of our solar system. Jenny Watson will answer space questions, then each child will make a Till-roll Solar system model and the teacher will also demo the relative sizes of the planets using Playdough. There are five sessions on offer and each workshop has capacity for two Year 5 classes (please note - one ticket = 1 class). Friday 29th January 1:15-2:30pmMonday 8th Feb 1:15-2:30pm Friday 12th Feb 1:15-2:30pm Monday 8th March 1:15-2:30pm Friday 12th March 1:15-2:30pm The &#x27;house rules&#x27; are:1) Children&#x27;s mics are muted and their cameras can be off (as the teacher wants), with the teacher&#x27;s camera on.2) Children join with first name/initials, followed by class name, eg. &#x27;Mohammed 5JH&#x27; or &#x27;AP Oak&#x27;, so we can recognise, admit and interact with them. 3) To ask a question/speak, use &#x27;Zoom chat&#x27; or the Reactions &#x27;Thumbs up&#x27; and unmute when asked.BEFORE the day/session, please ask pupils to write a space question (about planets, stars, comets, aliens, blackholes, astronauts etc) and, as the teacher, select some to type into the session chat or email docjennywatson@gmail.com beforehand.The Zoom link will be circulated two days prior to the workshop.
