With a background in psychology and global L&amp;D leadership, she brings over 20 years of experience in helping people grow at work.Louise works with clients in knowledge-based and fast-growing tech companies to develop managers and leaders who can adapt, inspire, and deliver results. Her approach is practical, human, and grounded in real-world experience. Talk #2 with Liz MaughnWhat is Self Care? It's role in workplace mental health &amp; wellbeingIn this workshop we will explore what "Self Care" really means and it's value in the workplace. We will identify common barriers that exist to practicing self-care, and identify how HR/managers can enable &amp; support employees with achieving their goals.About LizWith over 40 years of experience in health and social care, Liz brings a wealth of expertise to mental health training and consultancy. She has mentored student nurses and social work students, designed and delivered training for Oxfordshire Social Services (1996–2011), and completed multiple professional qualifications, including Train the Trainer and Mental Health First Aid England (MHFAE) instructor training. From 2019 to 2022, she delivered MHFAE courses to hundreds of delegates, consistently earning top feedback scores. In 2022, Liz founded Empower Mental Health Training &amp; Consultancy, offering open-access and bespoke training, along with consultancy services supporting businesses to develop workforce wellbeing strategies. Her approach is informed by a strong background in service development and project management, including dementia care and inter-agency collaboration. Passionate about mental health awareness and stigma reduction, she supports MHFAE’s mission to train one in ten people in England in mental health skills.
