Exploring how University Continuing Education can build a lifelong learning ecosystem, with examples from the University of Calgary.

Dr Sheila LeBlanc, Associate Vice-President (Continuing Education) at the University of Calgary and currently the Department for Continuing Education Visiting Fellow during Trinity Term, will be giving a talk on the evolving role of University Continuing Education.The call for lifelong learning—essential for individuals, organizations, and the well-being of society—has never been greater. Yet transformational change within universities is challenging, particularly during times of resource constraints.University Continuing Education (UCE) divisions have a long history of adapting and contributing to innovative change within universities. However, the path forward is not always clear.Using an organizational development lens, this session explores actions that UCE divisions could consider towards building a broader lifelong learning ecosystem. To illustrate evolutions in program provision and partnerships, specific examples from the University of Calgary are shared.All are welcome to join us in the Mawby Pavilion in Rewley House. Places are available on a first come, first served basis. For those attending in person, tea and coffee will be available.
