Glass-House Chats: Building Social Value into Design & Placemaking

The Glass-House Community Led Design is a national charity dedicated to connecting people with the design of their places, and connecting design with people. For over two decades, we have supported communities, organisations and networks to work collaboratively to shape buildings, spaces, homes and neighbourhoods.The Glass-House sees design not only as a tool for creating great places, but also as a way to connect people and empower them with enhanced confidence, skills and a greater sense of agency. We provide hands-on support and training, share knowledge and learning, and inspire new thinking and debate through action research, events and resources.

The Glass-House Community Led Design

Glass-House Chats are one-hour themed sessions for an informal chat about engaging communities in design and placemaking.

However, impact evaluations too often focus only on the impact of built outcomes. Are we missing opportunities to imbed social value and impact into the design and placemaking process itself? At this chat, we’ll be talking about perceptions of social value in design and placemaking, and exploring ways to effectively integrate it into development and regeneration. Please be aware that when signing up;<ol><li>There are limited spaces for each event, with a maximum of 7 attendee spaces.</li><li> No shows without notification will be excluded from future sessions, please let us know with 48 hours notice if you&#x27;re no longer able to attend the event.</li><li>We may document the event by recording the session and taking screenshots. These captures will not be made public.
