HR functions across the country are snowed-under handling employee issues that could have been dealt with at management level, or often avoided completely with correct management. Line managers don’t need to understand the nuts and bolts of employment law, but it is crucial that they know how to spot warning signals and how to handle issues in an appropriate and lawful manner. In the tricky business of managing people, especially with widespead home-working, there are many pitfalls that most managers are unaware of. These pitfalls could result in employee grievances or even employment tribunals. This session will assist line managers, business owners and junior HR staff to gain confidence in handling issues with employees in the correct manner, and lessening the need to escalate matters through increasingly time consuming and expensive processes. Session outline There are always minefields in managing employees, and so employers will need to consider how they are dealing with staff fairly. This workshop will equip you with an understanding of how to deal with ‘people problems’ that can arise both in the office and remotely. We will cover: <ul><li>Understand in how to deal with conduct, performance, and absence issues that can arise with staff both in and out of the office. </li><li>Implement appropriate performance management systems for probationers and other staff members. </li><li>Understand and deal with absence issues, and addressing concerns over frequent levels of sickness. </li><li>Understand how best to deal with conflict between workers, both those working remotely and those on site. </li><li>Spot the signs of stress and interpersonal conflict in your teams and learn techniques in how to resolve it. </li></ul>Who should attend? This session is beneficial for anyone who is managing a team, either remotely or in the office, and HR managers and business owners. You will gain an understanding of how to spot and deal with issues quickly, when to implement informal or formal procedures, and dealing with conflict amongst your teams.Terms and Conditions:
