EdTech Demonstrators - Effective Marking and Feedback using Google.

Brough Community Primary School

A workshop on how to utilise the core Google apps - Clasroom, Docs and Forms to ensure effective marking, feedback and assessment.

Led by Phil Cooper, Head Teacher and Google Educator. Phil has worked with G-Suite and Google Classroom for 6 years now. Brough Community Primary School is one of only a small number of Google Reference Schools in UK. As an EdTech Demonstrator school, Phil has supported schools all over the Northwest, allowing them to improve their online learning and remote education provision, specialising in the Google platform. The webinar will focus on how schools can get the most out of Google's core apps - Google Classroom, Docs and Forms, to provide feedback, mark work and provide assessment opportunities. For example, we will look at Google Docs as:

A simple tool for gerating work to mark - then marking it!

Inserting photos from your device camera into a Google Doc (great for home learning evidence).

As a daily or weekly feedback sheet.

A multimedia classroom tool to stimulate writing ideas.

The comment facility as a marking and feedback aid.

As a record for drafting.

With the multitude of apps and extensions on offer to schools, Phil will focus on 'keeping it simple' foryour schools community, by just sticking to the apps that work best - Google Classroom, Docs and Forms, to achieve high-quality feedback, marking and assessment, whether remotely or in school! With any spare time, Phil will answer any questions posed to him about this topic or in the wider context of Google for Education. Please note the webinar link will be open from 3.30 until 3.45 to give everyone time to get online and connect with the webinar. Admission after 3.45 pm cannot be guaranteed. You do not need to have your camera switched on during the webinar and we politely request that you have your microphone turned off unless coming in to ask questions. The online chat will be available for more feedback.
